This famous fairy tale of the Brothers Grimm is about four aging domestic farm animals, who feel they are neglected and mistreated by their owners. They band together with dreams of a better life, and wish to travel to Bremen, Germany, to become town musicians. Along the way they meet up with many adventures and challenges.
Like all Grimm's fairy tale stories, this one holds a number of morals and conflicts like old age, death, and change. This tale is a wonderful opportunity to teach children lessons in life that are often difficult to explain.
This painting won first in a Canada Nationwide Christmas Card Contest, depicting both German and Canadian traditions.
It was also on exhibit at the Array of Light and Colour Show hosted by T.E. Wealth in Toronto.
